Send message from Email - Email to SMS

Email to SMS is a quick and easy way to send messages through emails with no need to login to apps or websites. To be able to use Email to SMS you must have an active account on Unifonic platform and to create an Email to SMS app 

How to start using Email 2 SMS?

After the feature is activated, you need to go to the Dev. tools page and create new app to get your account sending code that will allow you to send messages through emails.

You can restrict your account to only allow a specified email(s) to use this feature.

 

 

How to start sending using Email 2 SMS?

You can send through your email to recipient(s) number, or to a group.

  • How to send to contact(s):
  1. Open your Email and click on new message.

   

  1. A specific formula must be added as shown below:
  • To: this field will include the recipient(s) number.

Example: you want to send to your friend in UK, the format in TO field will be as follow:

447774477000@web.unifonic.com

Sending to multi numbers should be separated by #.

  • Subject: to be added in the same order as shown below (with no space):

send+sender ID+sending code

Example: send+Test+cc12345

  • Message Body: this field will contain your desired message.

  

  1. Clicks send, and your message will reach the server to send it to the receiver.
  2. You will receive an email with the message status.

 

  • How to send to group:

To send to a group, you must create a group first on your [Audience] page.

  1. Open your Email and click on new message.

 

  1. A specific formula must be added as shown below:
  • To: this field will include the group name.

Example: you want to send to one of your groups that are already added on Unifonic software, the format in TO field will be as follow:

Mygroup@web.unifonic.com

The group name must be exactly like the group name created on your account.

  • Subject: to be added in the same order as shown below (with no space):

sendgroup+sender name+sending code

Example: sendgroup+Test+cc12345

  • Message Body: this field will contain your desired message.

 

  1. Clicks send, and your message will reach the server to send it to receiver.
  2. You will receive an email with the message(s) status.

 

Status Response:

Below you will find the returned status that you will receive one of them after sending the email.

 

Invalid user

The account that you are trying to send from it is not active.

Unauthorized service

The Email 2 SMS feature is not activated on your account.

Unauthorized email

The email used is not allowed to send. This email is not added to the restricted email(s).

Invalid code

The sending code used is incorrect.

Wrong format

The subject format is incorrect

Messages status

Will send you the successfully send messages IDs, cost, total units. Rejected numbers.

 

Recommended policies to be followed

  • Character Encoding: System supports UTF-8 encoding so all encodings of characters are read and identified through our system.
  • Sending to multi numbers should be separated by #.
  • Attachments: Any images, files or attachments will be automatically ignored by the system.
